Blaine has been cast to join the Dewdney Productions latest play, The Full Monty. "This is something completely out of my comfort zone, but there is more to the story than just the last 5 minutes", said Blaine about starring in the play. "It touches on a lot of men's issues, like body image, family struggles, confidence and getting older. In the end, to get a chance to be a part of one of my all-time favorite movies, and all while helping a great cause, it was just too hard to pass up." In addition to the play, the theater company is creating a calendar of the Monty Men where the proceeds will go to support local men's mental health organizations in the area.
UPDATE - The Full Monty performace concludes after a record breaking run! The three week run went on to become the best-selling show in the history of both theatre society and venue. "It was an amazing run! After we got over the nerves and the initial shock of what we were actually doing, it became a lot of fun. At the beginning, when we started learning our dance routines, it was tough but nothing stressful. But when we got our, I will use the term loosely...costumes, it all became real. As a cast we bonded quickly and trusted each other on stage. Then when performing, and the sold out crowd is screaming and cheering, it's a pretty great feeling." The show had a three week, 10 show run and was sold out every night before breaking the long standing records.
